This post doesn’t need to be wordy. Once I finished with the admin in Chiang Mai I started on the touristy stuff.

I’m not one to be preachy but I’ll say just a few sentences on this. Elephant sanctuaries are generally pretty shit to elephants. If you go to one in Chiang Mai or elsewhere please opt for one where you don’t ride on Elephants either on a bamboo seat or on the elephants back. Unhelpfully I can’t remember the name of the sanctuary I went to but Google should give you an answer quickly. We fed elephants sugar cane, interacted with them, gave them a mud bath during which they were very playful and finally bathed them in a river – again during which time they were very playful and happy. You can have fun with elephants without riding on them.
