The art exhibition – by artist Ned Chand – was made completely of recycled material, most of which came from scraps left over during the construction and building of Chandigarh itself. Walking through the Rock Garden is like tripping out. Unique yet recognisable structures are scaled from very small to very big playing with your perception of what its size should be and of course, all very clearly and impressively made from recycled material.
Chandigarh, is an interesting city. It’s India’s first (and I think only) manmade city, designed by architects and designers from conception to execution. In stark contrast to the rest of India, it has wide spacious roads, continuous flowing traffic, it’s clean, well organised, friendly and peppered with green belts and outdoor greenery.
